The French Institute
About the French Institute
Supervised by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Institut Français promotes the understanding of French language and culture abroad. The agency also responds to the needs France’s diplomatic missions by engaging with local projects to increase openness, partnership, and discussion. The Institut Français has also launched the Fonds d’Alembert, an annual call for proposals. Its role is to support the organization of conferences and symposiums within the French cultural organisms abroad, by involving the local community and partners, as well as participants from different backgrounds.
