Maboula Soumahoro


Maboula Soumahoro is Associate Professor at the Université de Tours François-Rabelais, France. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Tours. Her research focuses on U.S. and African American studies, the African diaspora and Atlantic black nationalisms. She has taught at Bard College (Bard Prison Initiative) and at the Paris Institute of Political Science (France). Based in France, Soumahoro is president of the Black History Month association and served a member of the National Council for the Memory and History of slavery between 2013 and 2016. In 2016-2017, she is Visiting Faculty at Bennington College and Barnard-College-Columbia University.
