Stéphanie Seydoux
Stéphanie Seydoux is currently Head of the French Department for Women’s rights and Gender Equaliy (pertaining to the Directorate-General for Social Cohesion). She was previously involved in other areas of equality policies as head of the Departement for Equality promotion of the French Equality commission (Haute autorité de lutte contre les discriminations – HALDE) from 2007 to 2010, and as rapporteur for the High council for Integration in 2006 in charge of the Council’s annual report (A comparative analysis of European integration models). From 2004 to 2007, she was Deputy Head of the French Inspectorate General for Social Affairs, and contributed as an inspector to reports on various aspects of social policies (the enforcement of Labour laws, employment policies, hospital tarification). A former diplomat, Stéphanie Seydoux was posted at the French Foreign office in Paris from 1992 to 1996 (Directorate for Americas and Economic and Financial Directorate) before serving in Moscow (1996-2000) and Kenya (2010-2013), as Deputy Head of Mission of the French Embassy. She has a M.A in Modern Languages from Oxford University (St Hugh’s College - 1988), a degree from the Institut d’études politiques de Paris (Sciences Po - 1991) and qualified from École nationale d’administration (ENA) in 2004 - promotion « Léopold Sédar Senghor ».
