Michael Privot
Michael started as Networking and Campaigns Officer in the European Network Against Racism (ENAR) team in 2006 and became Director in 2010. He has been appointed as scientific collaborator at the University of Liège (ULg, Belgium) in 2016. He has 8 years of experience in diversity management in employment. Previously, he worked during four years as FNRS Research Fellow at the ULg. He has more than a decade of experience in community building of Muslim communities in Belgium and Europe. He is actively involved in the reform of Islamic thought in Europe. He holds a MA in Oriental History and Philology (Islamic Studies), a specialisation in Comparative History of Religions (ULg) and Arabic (IFEA, Damascus), and a PhD in Languages and Literature (ULg). He has authored a book with T. Oubrou and C. Baylocq on imams in France, a number of academic publications as well as op-ed articles and appeared in a variety of media, including Euronews, Voice of America, Al Jazeera, RT, Le Soir, RTBF and European Voice. His upcoming book “Vers un islam des lumières” will be available by March 2017.
