Nicolas Prevelakis


Nicolas Prevelakis is a Lecturer on Social Studies at Harvard University, as well as Assistant Director of Curricular Development at Harvard's Center for Hellenic Studies. He teaches courses on social and political theory, and the interconnection between nationalism, globalization, and religion in the modern world. He has a first Ph.D. in Moral and Political Philosophy from the University of Paris-Sorbonne (2001) and a second one in Political Sociology from Boston University (2006). He has published and co-authored articles and encyclopedia pieces on secularization theory («Nationalism, Religion, and Secularization: An Oppportune Moment for Research», Review of Religious Research, 2010), Religion and politics (“Politics and Religion”, Encyclopedia of Global Religion, Sage, 2011), and intellectual history.
